Takeaway: Many power options, easy to use, convenient placement in center console cup holders.

This car charger replaced a 2-port USB charger that I had been using until it stopped working a few weeks ago. I like this design because it places the USB ports in the cup holder in front of the arm rest which is more convenient for me and it adds an additional USB port over what I had been using in addition to providing me with two cigarette ports to plug in other accessories with dedicated cigarette lighter plugs. This is a nice feature as my car only has the one cigarette lighter port in the front console. The only obvious drawback is that you lose a place to put your drink, but I have a "no drinks" policy in my car anyway, so my cup holders are typically just full of change.

The charger is made of a lightweight plastic and weighs 6 oz. The outside is coated in a soft rubber that has a matter black finish which looks and feels nice but is a dust and fingerprint magnet. The length of the power cable is 5 feet, so you'll be able to extend a backseat cigarette lighter port to the center console cup holder if you need to. The cigarette plug on this power adapter has finger grips that make it easy to unplug the unit when not in use.

The manual that comes with this unit is a generic one that's used for many of Qicent's products. Unfortunately it's not very specific and doesn't give you exact details for this unit. According to the description at Amazon, the USB ports deliver a charging speed of up to 2.4A depending on the device that is plugged into it, so it will detect the amount of current the device needs automatically. I was able to charge my phone and tablet with the USB ports with no issues. The cigarette ports on this charger are a bit tight, so it takes some effort to get other adapters in and out of the ports. Enough so that I have to use both hands to hold down the charger and unplug the adapter to keep the charger in the cup holder; it's best not to do this while driving. That said, other adapters for charging and powering devices that I plugged into the extended cigarette lighter ports performed as expected. This device gives me plenty of options for powering all my mobile devices.
