When you order the kit at Amazon, in the box you'll receive a set of impression instructions, two mouth trays: the one labeled U2 is small and U1 is large, you also get two sets of impression putty, and a prepaid stamped envelope to send the impression back.

The instructions were easy to follow and directs you to a helpful video on YouTube for a visual. Sizing the tray was straightforward as was taking the impression. The putty doesn't really taste like anything, maybe a bit minty and while the tray may feel somewhat uncomfortable, you only have to deal with it for 5 minutes (10 if you need to try again with the second set of putty). I liked that a second set of putty was included because I definitely didn't take a good impression the first time.

I mailed in my impression and after about two weeks I received the night guard in a plastic case. As expected, it's molded exactly to my teeth for a custom and comfortable fit. Compared to my current night guard (from the dentist) it's a lot slimmer and lighter. It's also not as rigid and made of a softer silicone. I found that doesn't go as high up my teeth and only covers them about halfway, but for bruxism you're really only worried about contact with your lower teeth, and it's enough height that they stay in place through the night. The only thing is I can feel the edge of it with my tongue against the back of my teeth, which I can't with the bigger one because it goes all the way up to my palette. However, I always wake up with it still in, and it does keep my teeth from rubbing together. I'm not sure how long it will last because it is kind of thin, and I will probably end up chewing through it at some point, but I'll come back and update this review when that happens. I plan on wearing this night guard nightly for grinding as it's not as bulky as my dentist made one.
