Takeaway: Works with my LG G5, but signal cuts in and out on some devices, not reversible.

I ordered this device a few months ago and was disappointed that the one I received did not work with my LG G5, however, Plugable reached out to me recently to let me know that they had updated the firmware on this product (I returned the original). I am pleased to find that the new version has expanded compatibility and does work with my LG G5 phone. I can use it to display my phone screen on my TV or portable projector without the significant lag/delay I sometimes experience with WiFi mirroring.

The adapter has a 6” overall length and the adapter block measures 2.25” x 1” x ½”. At the end is the HDMI output and on the other end is the USB-C plug on a semi-flexible cable for your USB-C device like phone or laptop. The screen will automatically stretch when the orientation is changed from portrait to landscape. The color, contrast, resolution, and clarity is great. It also transmits audio. However, occasionally, the video signal will cut off. Sometimes it comes back on by itself, other times I have to unplug and plug it in again. This only seems to happen on certain devices (e.g. cuts out on one my TVs, but not my mini projector). This could be resolution compatibility problem, but I'm not sure. The adapter also doesn't appear to be reversible. The USB-C end only works when plugged into my phone in one orientation. When flipped over, even though it fits, no signal is transmitted and my phone doesn't detect it.
