The thermometer measures 2.5" x 1.5" and is 3/8" thick. On the back is a hook that can hang on a wire fridge rack either facing you or to the sides. On the left is the on/off button and temperature units setting for switching from Fahrenheit to Celsius. There's also a magnet at the base of the hook for a different mounting option. Before use, you'll have to open the battery door and remove the plastic battery saver tab. The screen has easy-to-read, large numbers and a range from -4° to 140° Fahrenheit. It doesn't take long in the fridge to get an accurate reading. There's also a frost alert, a snowflake that appears on the screen, if the temperature is between 39° - 46° F. Uses a CR2032 battery which is included. The unit is made of mostly plastic.
