Takeaway: Durable fiberglass core, large easy-to-read numbers/lines. Quickly take clothing measurements in English/metric.
This tailor's tape feels a lot like the one from my grandmother's sewing box and that one has probably lasted over 50 years now and still looks like new. I got this one to replace one from a travel sewing kit and I have to say, there is a huge difference in quality. Whereas my ""travel"" one split apart after a few uses and lost its brass end markers pretty fast, the coated fiberglass core on the eBoot tape doesn't tear or rip easily and the brass tips remain firmly attached, even after 6 months of near daily use. It can be balled up, sat on, crumpled into a pocket, and rubber banded with no degradation of the plastic coating. The numbers are large and easy to read making taking measurements super quick and painless. Why the travel tape decided to use red ink on a white background is beyond me because I struggled to read the numbers much less the minuscule lines on it. The contrasting and alternating black/white on the reverse side for metric measurements are also convenient and divided into sets of 10 centimeters, though this is fairly standard practice. Overall, I have no trouble taking my own clothing measurements nor measurements for others (or figuring out dimensions objects) and the tape feels like it will last a long time before I even need to think about replacing it.
