Takeaway: Bright, 1-2 foot coverage grow light with full, red and blue spectrum colors; helps plants grow, flower and fruit indoors.

You'll receive the grow light, a 1 foot 4 strand hanger with carabiner clip, and an instruction sheet. The light panel measures 13" square and is about 1/2" thick. There are 225 LED lights in this unit: 25 white LEDs in an X pattern in the middle and 200 alternating red and blue LEDs. You cannot select which colors to turn on (e.g. only blue or red). When the light fixture is turned on, all LEDs will illuminate. This mix gives a balanced blend of full spectrum and short and long wavelength blue and red light to stimulate vegetative growth and flower and fruit production.

The power cord on this unit is about 5' long and there is an inline power switch. On the back of the unit are four hangers which you can attach the hanging clips to. I have the light suspended about 8 inches above my jasmine, sapote, and guava plants which I brought indoors for the winter. The effective coverage range of this light is about 1-2 feet in diameter. This places the light about 1-2 from the tops of the plants. Any further and the number of photons hitting the leaves at farther distances won't have as beneficial an impact. I have the plugged in to a timer so that it'll deliver 10 hours of light to the plants each day. After 1 month, my plants seem to be doing well. The sapote has put out some new growth and the jasmine is even started developing a few flower buds in the dead of winter here on the east coast. Overall, I think the plant light has encouraged growth indoors for plants that are typically very slow growing in the winter months and it provides the extra light that they need to thrive in the off season.
