Takeaway: Durable, sharp, easy to squeeze, makes smooth/clean cuts.
The pruning shears come with an extra 2.25" spring for the handles. The shears measure 8.5" long with a 2" curved blade. While the handles look like they're made of wood, it's actually a vinyl veneer over metal handles making these pruners heavy-duty and weighty. The tool comes pre-sharpened and greased out of the box so you can start using them right away, though they can feel oily so you may want to wipe down the handles first. There's a metal slide lock just under the blades that can be operated one-handed with your thumb. When expanded, the maximum opening of the pruners is about an inch so you won't be able to cut branches thicker than that. The pruners work well on green/soft wood up to that thickness, but for dry wood, I'd stick with thinner branches because they can be tough to cut through. Overall, these pruners work well for light pruning for around the garden like removing dead twigs, damaged branches, and dead heading rose bushes. They feel very solid and durable but because of the weight may cause some fatigue if used for a long time.
