Takeaway: Bright LED for small object photography, a bit flimsy but usable and packs up compactly.

The light studio comes in a non-woven drawstring carrying bag. Inside you'll find a thin white foam backdrop, a black backdrop, the folded up light studio, and a brief instruction sheet. The lightbox is folded up on arrival but easy to set up. Each wall of the box measures about 9" square and it'll assemble into a 9" cube with 5 faces. The sides are held together using small magnets. Along the top outer edge of the box is an 8" LED light strip. The USB cord plugs into the right hand side, however, it is only 34" long so there's not a lot of length to run to an outlet with a USB adapter plug.

The light has no power switch so it will always be on while it is plugged in. I noticed that the weight of the USB cable tends to deform the cube somewhat and the magnets are a bit fickle. They unstick with the slightest bit of pressure or adjustment to the box, so be sure to set up the box how you want it and then not move it around until you are done shooting. At the back of the box are two push tabs near the top; press these inward inside the box and it creates two hanging points for the included backdrops which have holes cutout for this purpose. The boxdrops are made from a thin foam-like material (like a chamois towel). The box is only large enough to photograph small objects like jewelry, coins, and figurines, however, it does provide a nice clean looking environment for these types of objects. If you use something larger, you'll inevitably get the exposed corners of the box and the side flaps in the shot. Overall, the light box is usable photographing for small objects. It does have a few issues with stability that you'll need to work around, but the light is adequately bright for the space and the unit folds up compactly for travel.
