Takeaway: Accurate weighing, clear/easy to read LCD, good size.

The kitchen scale comes with 2 AAA batteries and a set of instructions. The scale measures 7""L x 5.25”W but the front and back edges are curved, so the measuring surface is really only 5.25” square. It's still big enough to fit my measuring/mixing bowls The weighing plate has a shiny, brushed, stainless steel finish and the maximum weight it can measure is 5 kg or about 11 lbs. The battery is bay is on the bottom of the unit. The four rubber feet keep the scale steady on the tabletop but also calibrate the scale and it needs to be set on a stable, level surface in order to be accurate. The power button also zeros or tares the scale after it is powered on with a short press. This is to ensure that your container weight does not get calculated into your ingredient weight; it takes a second to zero out but it pretty quick.

The LCD display uses a dark background with white text that is easy to read from almost any angle. The Unit button to the right of the LCD cycles through the measurement units: grams, ounces, milliliters, and lbs and oz. Only ounces can be measured out to two decimal places, the others are rounded to whole integer numbers. When compared to another scale, the measurements agreed with each other, so I trust that the scale is accurate. It is a bit sensitive to small vibrations which can shift/fluctuate the measurements by a hair, but not enough to affect any recipe. Overall, the scale appears have accurate readings, has a nice size, design and easy to read LCD, and is simple to use.
