Takeaway: Pretty lights, good diffuser/mister, small tank capacity.

All components of this diffuser are made of a lightweight plastic and the style is reminiscent of something you'd find at IKEA. The diffuser has a top that locks into place and opens up with a simple twist. The water tank can hold 100-120 ml and will last 3.5 hours on a full tank. When just using water, you can use this as a humidifier. If you want the diffuse aroma into the room, use a few drops of 100% essential oils, but be careful not to use more than 4-5 drops per 100 ml to prevent clogging the transducer. The adapter plugs into the bottom and has a cutout notch for the wire so it sits flush with the table. The recessed port, however, does make it a bit tough to get the barrel plug out if you want to remove the adapter.

There are two mist modes, which is nice. An intermittent mode that runs in 30 second intervals of on/off and a continuous mode. The intermittent mode is great for diffusing scents to make the tank over a longer period of time and doesn't add as much humidity to the air. The continuous mode is better when you're in dry environments or using the machine at drier times of the year. Either way, there's an automatic shutoff for both modes when the water tank is empty to keep it from burning out.

The night light gives off a whimsical and relaxing glow. You can either have it in a flowing kaleidoscope mode, where it rotates through 14 different colors (not in ROYGBIV order) or select a single color for the light to remain on, which includes just plain white and a "dim" white. I'm not a fan of the loud beep that goes off when the buttons are pressed, but it can't be shutoff so you're kind of stuck with that. The unit is also easy to clean with just a bit of lemon juice and water to sanitize and clear up any hard water buildup.

All in all, this unit is a cute and effective diffuser that can help you add a bit of moisture and distribute your favorite essential oils and scents in any room.

Takeaway: Straightforward, easy to use, lots of mist.

The humidifier splits into two main pieces, the blue tank and the base. The entire unit is made of a shiny hard shell plastic and measures 14" tall when assembled and the base has a 5.25" W x 8.5" L footprint. You'll also receive a cleaning brush for descaling any deposits under the tank and in and around the transducer. The nozzle on top is removable and allows you to adjust the direction of the mist; it splits horizontally so you can direct the mist in two different directions. The capacity of this tank is 3.5L, a little under 1 gallon. The cord on the unit is 5 ft long. Make sure to fill the tank from the bottom and not through the output nozzle as doing so could damage the unit. There is a built-in water filter on the cap of the tank. While it's unclear the lifespan of the filter and there doesn't seem to be a way to order a replacement, the manual indicates that the filter can be cleaned by soaking it in white vinegar for re-use.

The maximum humidifying rate is about 300ml/h or around 1.25 cup/hour. On a full tank the humidifier will run for about 12 hours at the max output until it is empty. The output level is adjusted by the analog power dial. When on, the unit has a small green light inside that will illuminate. This light cannot be shutoff while the unit is running. When the water level gets low, the light changes to red and unit shuts off automatically to prevent damage. This unit is very simple and easy to use and it does a nice job adding moisture back to dry air, especially in the winter time when heating systems tend to dry the air out in the house.

Takeaway: Compact but puts out a decent amount of mist.

This humidifier generates a fine mist using just water and is a stripped down version of a full sized humidifier. It has a built-in timer and will run for either 3 or 6 hours at a time. I typically use humidifiers during the cold dry winter months to add comfort to a dry room and help alleviate dry, itchy skin. I tested this unit in my plant cloning mist chamber that I use for propagating plants, but it wasn't a great fit because it runs for those fixed amounts of time, so I'd have to go and turn it on every so often to continue to generate mist.

The unit is very light weighing in at 1.25 oz. The housing on this is a hard plastic like kids toys. There are three rubber feet on the bottom but I'm not sure how useful they are since this unit is designed to float in water. The USB cable is 45" long which I found to be a tad short, though this really depends on how and where you use it. Note that it does not come with a USB wall charger, but you can use any standard 500 mAh USB adapter, and it can also be powered by your computer or laptop's USB port.

The instructions on the box are in Chinese but you basically just place this in a cup of water. There is a touch sensitive "button" on the opposite side of the doughnut from the wire. Touch it once to set the timer for 3 hours, twice for 6 hours and a third time will turn the unit off. The humidifier does generate mist, though at a fairly low volume. It would take a long time to raise the humidity in a large room, but for close proximity and small rooms it would do okay. Getting it to generate mist can be a little tricky. Make sure not to submerge the doughnut or fill the center of the cavity with water or else no mist will come out. This presented a challenge sometimes as the doughnut doesn't always float horizontally and the wire positioning can tilt and flood the center easily. I also found that the touch-sensitive button sometimes gets triggered by the slightest brush and occasionally by the water if the mineral content is high and thus has higher conductivity. However, once you get it to generate mist, if you leave it alone for the allotted amount of time, it will just continue to run and create mist.

It's not as feature filled as a typical larger humidifier as it lacks a fan and directional control or an "always on" mode. However, you can use whatever sized container you want and are not limited to a fixed capacity. It also has automatic shutoff if there is no water to protect the transducer from damage. But if you're just looking to add a bit of humidity to a dry room with a device that is small, lightweight and portable, this one works pretty well.
