iRestore Laser Hair Restoration Helmet 1 Year 8 Month Update

iRestore Laser Hair Restoration Helmet 1 Year 8 Month Update

Takeaway: It's been 20 months since I started using the iRestore Laser Hair Restoration Helmet and over a year since my last update so let's chat about the state of my hair today.

For those of you curious about whether or not my hair has improved a lot more since my previous update at the 6 month mark, the current consensus is that while I haven't seen further improvement, I have also not seen tremendous regression of results and in fact I seem to be maintaining my hair (and improvements gained during the first 6 months) which is really comforting. Keeping what hair I have in good healthy condition is my primary goal and I think the helmet helps do that and for the last year I haven't struggled as much with shedding or further recession of my hair line, except perhaps slightly at the temples. I also noticed that my hair feel thicker and stronger overall and less like the baby fine/thin hairs I had prior to using the helmet. I plan on using the device indefinitely for maintenance and hopefully by the time the machine wears out, there will be a new and improved device on the market.

Thanks to everyone who has been supportive and asked questions. I hope I've helped you with your research and wish you well on your own hair journey.

Fairyland Blackout Curtains Review

Fairyland Blackout Curtains Review

Buy it at Amazon: Fairyland Blackout Curtains [Affiliate Link]

Takeaway: Heavy, thick curtains, blocks almost all light and moderates temperature on hot/cold days.

The blackout curtains come individually packed, so if you need two panels like I did, make sure to order a quantity of 2. My original curtains bleed a ton of light through them during the day so I wanted something heavier. The Fairlyland curtains are made with a smooth, soft, satin-feel fabric. It is very opaque and heavy. The navy blue color was darker than I expected. There are 8 metal grommets on top of the 52"W x 63"L panels. The grommets feel rigid and durable and don't bend under stress. The fabric is a thick, triple-layer polyester that's supposed to be hand washable but the tag is somewhat confusing. It states in words ""dry clean only"" but then the symbols indicate hand wash, NO dry clean, NO bleach, and NO tumble dry. So is it dry clean only or hand wash only?? It seems these are not machine washable in any event.

With these new curtains up, nearly no light gets through the curtain and they overlap nicely in the middle. The difference versus the old curtains is stark and it's nearly pitch black with just a little light bleeding around the edges. This is great for late risers and movie nights when you want to cut down as much ambient light as possible and lives up to the my expectations for blackout curtains. A little clarification from the vendor on how to clean/care for them would be great.

Kinga Nano Ionic Facial Steamer Review

Kinga Nano Ionic Facial Steamer Review

Buy it at Amazon: Kinga Nano Ionic Facial Steamer [Affiliate Link]

Takeaway: Easy to use and clean, quick to heat up; plenty of steam on one tank.

This steamer comes with an instruction manual, and 4 ft power cable.Facial steamers offer both beauty and therapeutic benefits. Steaming the skin will open your pores and improves circulation. It can also assist those suffering from congestion and sinus problems. The steamer unit is made of plastic and sits 8.5" tall with a 6 x 4 inch base. It has a thin lightweight carrying handle and the steam dispenser is pink with a flower blossom design. The power cables plugs at the bottom near the back and the water chamber simply lifts out on the back here and you can fill it with about ¼ cup of distilled or filtered water. This steamer is not designed to accommodate additives like essential oils. After filling the chamber seat it back into the steamer and set the switch on the front to on. The steamer takes about 30-45 seconds to warm up and produce steam.

Wash your face thoroughly before steaming. Position your face 8-10 inches from the steamer and allow the steam to cover your entire face. While steaming, you'll want to periodically blot your face with a cool damp towel to wipe away excess oils and relax your pores. After 10 minutes of treatment you can rinse your face with cool water. Follow up with a toner like witch hazel or rose hip water. Then apply your desired treatment like a moisturizer with jojoba oil or a retinol treatment.

This steamer has an automatic low water and overheat shutoff. If the unit shuts off by itself, it may need more water in the tank and a few minutes to cool down before resuming operation. After the unit has cooled, you may need to drain excess water out of the fill chamber before putting the unit away for storage.

The steam treatment helps unclog my pores, leaving my skin feeling less oily, lighter and cleaner than exfoliating scrubs alone. After steaming, treatments are more readily absorbed by the skin increasing their effectiveness and reducing the amount of product you need to use. You don't have to do treatments often, but try once a week for a month and you may see benefits like tightened, younger looking skin, more even skin tone, and a reduction in blemishes.
